GirlfriendGPT Review: Is It Worth It, and Is It a Scam?

GirlfriendGPT is a real, operating product from NextDay AI Incorporated of Montreal, not a scam. It is also the least transparent price in the category: the checkout sits behind a sign-in, and the only figures the vendor publishes openly no longer match its own app. Every claim below was read at the source on 2026-09-04.

Six AI girlfriends, one flat plan, nothing metered while you talk.

Short answer: GirlfriendGPT is not a scam. It is a real, operating product run by NextDay AI Incorporated of Montreal, with a Delaware entity and a Cyprus entity alongside it, and it does the thing it advertises. What it is, is the least transparent price in this whole category. The checkout sits behind a sign-in, the only prices the company publishes in the open no longer match its own app, and every review page ranking for this search quotes a different number without saying where it got it. Everything below was read on GirlfriendGPT's own site and inside its own application on 4 September 2026.

If you want the practical version: it is a good buy for uncensored chat and adult image generation across a very large user-made catalog. It is a poor buy if you wanted one girlfriend who stays consistent on a bill you can forecast, and the reasons for that are structural rather than a matter of taste.

Is GirlfriendGPT a scam?

No. The footer of its own site names the operator outright: GirlfriendGPT is owned and operated by NextDay AI Incorporated, 4388 Saint-Denis, Suite 200, Montreal, Quebec, alongside NextDay AI USA Inc in Delaware and NextDay AI EU Ltd in Limassol, Cyprus. It publishes a 2257 record-keeping compliance statement, runs a bug bounty and an affiliate program, and maintains a public FAQ. Scams do not usually incorporate in three jurisdictions and publish their addresses.

The complaints that produce the scam searches are almost always billing surprise rather than fraud. Someone buys a plan expecting it to cover what they want to do, then discovers that images and video spend a separate coin balance, and that the tier they bought did not include the thing they were actually there for. That is an opaque pricing model, and it deserves the criticism it gets. It is a different accusation from theft.

Who owns GirlfriendGPT?

NextDay AI Incorporated. Worth knowing two things about the name. First, the older girlfriendgpt.com address now redirects to gptgirlfriend.online, so GirlfriendGPT and GPTGirlfriend are one product under two names, and search results mixing the two are not describing rival apps. Second, if you are deciding who ends up holding your conversation history, NextDay AI is the entity to look up, not the brand.

How much does GirlfriendGPT cost?

Here is the honest answer, and the reason it is unsatisfying. The pricing page redirects to a login. Tested on 4 September 2026, visiting the plans screen while signed out returns a sign-in prompt, so nobody outside the product can read the current checkout price, including the review sites that publish one.

The one place the vendor does publish figures openly is the structured data behind its own FAQ, which answers the question "What are the pricing choices on GirlfriendGPT?" like this:

PlanPublished priceSource and date read
Basic$5 per monthGirlfriendGPT FAQ structured data, gptgirlfriend.online, 4 Sep 2026
Premium$10 per monthSame document, same day
Deluxe$35 per monthSame document, same day
EliteNot listedAbsent from the published FAQ, present in the live app

Notice the problem. That published list names a Basic tier the live application does not show, and omits the Elite tier the live application does show. The vendor's own public price answer has drifted out of step with the vendor's own product. So treat those three figures as what the company publishes, not as what you will be charged tonight.

Why does every site list a different GirlfriendGPT price?

Because none of them can see the checkout either. Across the pages currently ranking for GirlfriendGPT pricing you will find $12 a month, $14, $15, $23, $24.50 and around $50, all stated confidently and none of them sourced. Some are quoting the stale published figures. Some are quoting a yearly-billed rate as though it were a monthly one. Some look like they are copying each other.

The yearly-rate confusion is the one worth understanding, because it comes straight from the vendor. GirlfriendGPT's own upgrade screen carries a footnote saying that the prices shown reflect the discounted monthly rate available with yearly billing, and that standard monthly prices apply if you choose to pay monthly. A second string in the app spells it out further: the quoted monthly price for a plan applies when billed annually at the yearly figure. So the headline number is a twelve-month commitment wearing a monthly label, and a review site that copies it without the footnote has understated the month-to-month cost.

What are coins on GirlfriendGPT?

Coins are the in-app currency, and they are the second half of your bill. Paid plans include a monthly allowance of free coins, quests and rewards hand out more, and a Buy Coins button sells additional balance on top. Coins are spent on unlocking image galleries, generating video, and running the Character Pro image model, and the app warns that generating a video with audio costs more coins than generating one without.

Credit where it is due: GirlfriendGPT advertises free coins with lifetime validity. An unused balance carries forward rather than resetting each month, which is meaningfully fairer than the expiring monthly allowances that most companion apps run. It is the one part of this pricing model that clearly favors the buyer, and the review pages that dismiss it as just another token meter are being lazy.

It still means the plan price is a floor. If you are stacking this alongside two or three other assistant subscriptions and topping up credits on each of them, the only way to know the real number is to add up the recurring charges and the one-off packs together, the same discipline any finance team applies when it starts pulling scattered software spend into one view. Most people discover the total is roughly double what they thought.

Does GirlfriendGPT have a free trial?

Yes, and it is small and precise. The app grants 20 free messages on its Elite chat model, described in its own interface as a limited-time trial with no charge and no commitment, and it caps how many of those trials it issues each day. There is no card required to claim it.

Twenty messages is enough to judge writing quality and tone, which is genuinely the thing worth judging. It tells you nothing about what a month of image generation or video would cost, because none of that is included. Spend the trial on conversation, not on trying to squeeze a picture out of it.

Is GirlfriendGPT free?

There is a free tier, and it is deliberately narrow. Read from the app's own interface: free members can browse and chat in a limited way, can create only a limited number of characters, and are locked out of image galleries entirely, which the app states are available exclusively to users subscribed to a paid plan. Audio autoplay requires Deluxe or Elite. Chat model settings are a paid feature. Applying edits to a generated image requires Elite specifically.

What is the difference between Premium, Deluxe and Elite?

This is the single most useful thing on this page, and it is not published anywhere else, because it comes from the app's own tier descriptions rather than from a marketing table.

TierWhat the app itself says it isWhy it matters when you buy
FreeLimited chat, limited character creation, no galleriesEnough to test the writing, not the product
PremiumThe entry paid tierDoes not include uncensored chats
Deluxe"All-access, Premium plus uncensored chats", described as the bestsellerThis is where the thing most buyers came for actually starts
Elite"Unlimited access, Deluxe plus priority access and exclusives"Adds image editing, multi-language models, the Elite roleplay engine

Read that Premium row again, because it is the detail that changes the real price for most people. The app defines Deluxe as Premium plus uncensored chats, which means the entry paid tier does not include uncensored conversation. If uncensored chat is why you are buying, your actual entry price is the Deluxe price, not the Premium one, and every comparison that quotes GirlfriendGPT's cheapest paid plan is quoting a tier that does not do the job.

One more tier-gate worth flagging: the app prompts users to upgrade to Deluxe or Elite to stop a character losing memory. Memory is not a baseline feature here. If you want a companion who remembers you across weeks, that is a paid upgrade on this platform, and it is the reason a lot of people conclude the product feels shallow before realizing they were simply on the wrong tier. We unpack how these meters get built across the category in our piece on why so many AI girlfriend apps charge tokens.

Is GirlfriendGPT trustworthy?

On the questions that matter for safety, it is an ordinary operating business. Named legal entities, a published compliance statement, a bug bounty, a stated policy of storing conversations securely. Trustpilot carries too few reviews of the current domain to be statistically meaningful, so anyone quoting a Trustpilot score for this brand as evidence is quoting four opinions.

The real risk in this category is not fraud, it is attribution: an email address permanently joined to a log of explicit prompts and generated images. Use a dedicated email, never reuse a password, and keep identifying details out of chat. We go through what actually leaks and how in our look at whether GirlfriendGPT is safe.

Is GirlfriendGPT worth it?

For uncensored chat and adult image generation with an enormous user-made catalog, yes. That is what it is built for, the catalog is the biggest advantage it has, and no small curated gallery competes with it on breadth. If that is the job, buy Deluxe rather than Premium and budget for coins on top.

For a girlfriend who feels like one consistent person, no, and for three structural reasons. The characters are community uploads, so writing quality and personality swing with whoever made the one you opened, and a character you like is a public listing other people are chatting with too. Memory is tier-gated. And the coin balance makes a predictable monthly bill genuinely difficult, which is the complaint that turns up in almost every negative review of it.

GirlfriendGPT vs Candy AI: which is better?

They are closer to each other than either is to a curated gallery, and the split is catalog versus polish. GirlfriendGPT gives you far more characters because users make them, at the cost of consistency. Candy AI ships a tighter, more produced experience with its own metering: tokens there are spent on image generation, creating a custom AI, listening to a voice message, voice calls and video, with chat the only unlimited part. Candy AI's refund window is also unusually tight, closing after 24 hours and 20 tokens. We compared the plans in detail on our Candy AI alternative page.

Pick GirlfriendGPT for breadth and explicit output. Pick Candy AI for a more finished product with a smaller cast. Pick neither if what you actually wanted was a fixed monthly bill.

Is GirlfriendGPT worth it, according to Reddit?

Threads on this brand split along a consistent line, and it lines up with everything above. People who came for adult image generation and a huge catalog generally report getting what they paid for. People who came for a relationship report two things: that the character quality is a lottery because strangers wrote them, and that the money went further than expected in the wrong direction once coins entered the picture. The recurring advice in those threads is to work out which of the two products you want before you subscribe, which is exactly right.

What to buy instead, if you wanted the other thing

If reading the above made you realize you wanted a consistent girlfriend rather than an adult image engine, the shape you want is the opposite of this one. Characters written and illustrated by one team to a single standard instead of uploaded by strangers. Memory on every plan rather than sold as an upgrade. And one flat figure, so the price you compare is the price you pay.

That is what Beauties.ai is. Six AI girlfriends, each with her own look and personality, all of them open on every plan, from $9 to $39 a month with nothing metered and no currency to top up. She stays in character, remembers what you told her, and texts first. It runs in a browser tab with nothing to install, the art is original cameo work with no real faces, and there is no explicit generation, which makes it the wrong tool if adult output is the point and the right one if it is not. Adults 18 and over.

If price is the thing you are actually trying to pin down, we broke every figure and its source out separately on our GirlfriendGPT pricing page, and the alternative itself is set out on the GirlfriendGPT alternative page.
