The bigger gap is voice. OurDream's 1,000 monthly coins buy 20 minutes of calls, while Kindroid's standard plan includes enough audio credits for several hundred minutes. OurDream wins on images and video, Kindroid on calls and memory. Neither has a free tier worth the name anymore.

Kindroid vs OurDream price, plan by plan

The table hides one detail that decides most purchases: what each plan does with your money once the plan price is paid. On OurDream, chat on the standard models is unlimited, and the coins are for everything you see and hear. On Kindroid, chat is unlimited too, and the included audio pool is large enough that most people never buy more. So the plan price is close to the real bill on Kindroid for a voice user, and far from it on OurDream.

Is OurDream AI cheaper than Kindroid?

For a yearly payer who only texts, yes. OurDream Premium billed yearly is $119.88, which is $40.11 less than Kindroid's $159.99 yearly app price. For a monthly payer, no: Kindroid is $15.99 against $19.99, so $48 a year cheaper. And as soon as you use voice, OurDream gets expensive quickly, because every minute of a call costs 50 coins.

The OurDream rows come from its coin guide: 50 coins a minute for a voice call, 10 coins for 2 standard images, and the cheapest mix of coin packs for anything above the monthly 1,000. The Kindroid rows assume the calls fit inside the 1,000,000 monthly audio credits, which they do with room to spare (the next section shows the math). Monthly figures are per month; yearly figures spread the yearly charge over twelve months.

Which is better for voice calls, Kindroid or OurDream?

Kindroid, by a wide margin on price. Kindroid charges a call fee of 400 audio credits a minute plus the credits for her spoken replies. Its In-App Purchases page says a 500,000 credit pack covers about 286 minutes of speech on the default V4 Fast voice, which is about 1,750 credits per spoken minute. If she talks for the whole minute, a call minute costs about 2,150 credits, so the 1,000,000 included credits cover about 465 minutes. If she talks for half of it, closer to 780 minutes. Either way that is 7 to 13 hours of calls a month inside a $15.99 plan.

OurDream's Premium coins cover 20 minutes, a figure OurDream prints on its own upgrade page. Past that you pay 40 to 60 cents a minute depending on the coin pack. An hour of calls every week on OurDream Premium paid monthly comes to $131.96, which is more than eight months of Kindroid.

Kindroid also has video calls with a live avatar. Those cost an extra 2,500 credits a minute on the standard look or about 4,500 on the premium look, on top of the call itself, so a standard plan supports a few hours of video a month rather than a dozen. OurDream has no live video call; it generates video clips instead, at 100 coins per 5 seconds.

Which is better for pictures and video?

OurDream, if generating images and clips is the point. It is built as a generator, every action has a published coin price, and Premium's monthly coins cover about 200 standard images. Video costs 100 coins per 5 seconds up to a minute, so $14.39 for a full minute at the 1,000 coin pack price. Kindroid gives subscribers daily selfie rewards and sells packs (50 for $6.99, 100 for $11.49 in the app), and it offers video selfies and video avatars, but pictures are a side feature there rather than the product.

One practical difference shows up if you stop paying. OurDream says images and videos you generated are blurred until you subscribe again. Kindroid turns the account read only, and its help center says you can still view, play back, export and delete everything, with all chats, memories and media kept.

Is Kindroid better than OurDream?

For a companion you talk to every day, yes. Kindroid is built around memory and authorship: you write the backstory, it keeps short, medium and long term memory, and the paid tiers sell more context. Ultra and MAX exist only to raise that memory ceiling, which is why the top of Kindroid's ladder costs $113.97 a month in the app. OurDream is better for someone who wants to design a character and generate images and video of her, with chat as one part of that. They overlap less than the search results suggest.

The content line is different too. OurDream generates explicit images. Kindroid uses billing as age verification and publishes moderation guidelines.

Does Kindroid or OurDream have a free plan?

Not in the sense most people mean. Kindroid retired its free Lite tier on 1 October 2026. New accounts now get a one time preview of 50 messages (15 in some regions), 5 selfies and 5,000 audio credits, and then the account is read only until you start the 3 day trial or pay. OurDream lets a free account chat at 1 coin per message, but free users cannot buy coins, so the free account runs dry quickly. The cheapest real entry is OurDream Premium yearly at $9.99 a month or Kindroid at $15.99 month to month.

If someone you know pays for Kindroid, ask for a gift code before you start. It gives a new account 14 days of premium instead of 3, and the people who issue them lose nothing. Can you get a refund from Kindroid or OurDream?

Rarely, on both. Kindroid's In-App Purchases page says refunds are not available for in-app purchases, and its terms treat subscriptions case by case with all sales final. OurDream's refund policy says nothing can be refunded once more than 25 percent of it has been used, monthly plans are not refunded once the coins are spent, and crypto payments are never refunded. Yearly plans may get a partial refund case by case. Treat a yearly purchase on either as final, which makes the trial or a monthly first month the safer way in.

Which one should you buy?

Buy Kindroid if you want one companion with deep memory and you will talk to her out loud. Pay monthly first, then switch to the yearly plan only once you know you will keep it for more than ten months, since $159.99 equals about ten monthly payments. Buy OurDream Premium yearly if you mainly want to generate pictures of a character you design and rarely call. Avoid OurDream for heavy voice use; the coin math turns a $9.99 plan into $100 or more a month.

Both products add a second meter on top of the plan, audio credits on one and coins on the other. If you end up running two or three of these subscriptions plus top ups, it is worth keeping every recurring plan and metered charge in one view before a yearly renewal lands.
