Short answer: in the US App Store, PolyBuzz sells three subscriptions. Standard is $9.90 a month or $4.99 a week, Premium is $19.90 a month, and Ultimate is $29.90 a month. On top of any of them, coins sell in packs from 1,000 for $2.49 to 20,000 for $19.90, and a second currency, Opals, sells at 1,000 for $5.90. Those prices come from Apple's in-app purchase list for PolyBuzz: Chat with Characters, published by Cloud Whale Interactive Technology LLC, read on 17 September 2026.
The number worth stopping on is the weekly one. Standard at $4.99 a week looks like the cheapest way in, and for one week it is. Kept for a year it costs $259.48, which is more than twelve months of Premium at $19.90 ($238.80) and more than twice the price of the same Standard plan paid monthly ($118.80). If you are about to tap the weekly option because it is the smallest number on the screen, that is the one decision on this page most likely to cost you money.
How much is PolyBuzz Premium?
PolyBuzz Premium is $19.90 a month in the iPhone app, which comes to $238.80 over a year paid month to month. It sits in the middle of three tiers, above Standard at $9.90 and below Ultimate at $29.90. What Premium adds over Standard is model access: PolyBuzz's own membership page gives Premium the Passion and Tale chat models on top of the Standard model and Long Memory that the cheapest tier already includes.
Apple's disclosure lists the ten most popular purchases for an app, and for PolyBuzz those ten do not include an annual plan. Review sites quote yearly prices for each tier, but we could not confirm any of them in dollars. PolyBuzz's web membership page sets its price by country, and from where we read it, it showed a local currency rather than USD. So the figures in this article are the ones Apple publishes for the US store, which is also where most American users pay.
What does each PolyBuzz subscription cost over a year?
Here is every subscription price Apple lists, with the yearly cost worked out so the options can be compared on one line.
| Plan in the US App Store | Listed price | Cost over a year | Works out per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Poly Standard Weekly Plan | $4.99 a week | $259.48 | $21.62 |
| Poly Standard Monthly | $9.90 a month | $118.80 | $9.90 |
| Poly Premium Monthly | $19.90 a month | $238.80 | $19.90 |
| Poly Ultimate Monthly Plan | $29.90 a month | $358.80 | $29.90 |
Apple lists Standard monthly twice, once as "Poly Standard Monthly" and once as "Poly Standard Monthly Plan", both at $9.90. That usually means an older and a newer product ID for the same plan, and it does not change what you pay. The naming does shift between surfaces, though: the app calls the entry tier Standard, while PolyBuzz's web membership page calls it Basic.
Is the PolyBuzz weekly plan worth it?
Only if you genuinely want Standard for a single week and will cancel before the second charge. At $4.99 a week you pay the monthly price of Standard in about two weeks, and by the end of a month you have paid $21.62 on average for a plan that costs $9.90 billed monthly. Over a year the weekly plan costs 2.18 times as much as the identical monthly one.
The comparison that surprises people is against the tier above. A full year of weekly Standard costs $20.68 more than a full year of monthly Premium, and Premium includes more chat models. Weekly billing is priced for trying, not for keeping. If you have already been on it for more than a couple of weeks, switching to monthly in your Apple subscription settings is the cheapest change available to you.
What is the difference between PolyBuzz Basic, Premium and Ultimate?
The difference is which chat models you can use and how long the memory lasts. All three paid tiers remove ads, allow unlimited chats and unlimited voice listening on the chat page, and reply faster than the free tier. The split, from PolyBuzz's membership page:
| What you get | Basic (Standard in the app) | Premium | Ultimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| US App Store price | $9.90 a month | $19.90 a month | $29.90 a month |
| Chat models | Standard model | Standard, plus Passion and Tale | All of those, plus Overture, Lumina, Conqueror and Saga |
| Memory | Long Memory | Long Memory | Long Memory plus Permanent Memory |
| Ad-free, unlimited chats, voice listening | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Extra avatar generation attempts a day | 20 | 30 | 30 |
The only tier that changes how much a character remembers is Ultimate. Basic and Premium both stop at Long Memory, and PolyBuzz's own FAQ is candid that memory is technically limited and a character may forget earlier conversations over time. If forgetting is the reason you are upgrading, Premium does not fix it, and Ultimate is the plan that claims to.
How much are PolyBuzz coins?
Coins cost between about $1 and $2.49 per 1,000, depending on the pack you buy. PolyBuzz's FAQ says coins extend voice chat time, regenerate a character's reply, buy inspiration replies and generate memory scenes. That makes them a second bill that runs alongside the subscription, and it is the part that turns a $9.90 plan into something larger.
| Coin pack | Price | Cost per 1,000 coins |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 coins | $2.49 | $2.49 |
| 3,000 coins | $4.99 | $1.66 |
| 8,000 coins | $9.99 | $1.25 |
| 20,000 coins | $19.90 | $1.00 |
The smallest pack costs 2.5 times as much per coin as the largest. The trap is that the small pack is the one you buy in the middle of a chat, when a reply goes wrong and you want to regenerate it now. Opals are a separate currency again, at 1,000 for $5.90, and Apple lists no other Opal pack among PolyBuzz's top purchases. Two currencies plus a subscription is three separate things to keep track of, which is exactly how an evening's chatting adds up without anyone noticing. If you are already struggling to see what all your apps and top-ups cost together, a tool built to track recurring software spend in one place will show the total faster than your card statement does.
Is PolyBuzz free?
Yes, PolyBuzz has a free tier, and it is where most users start. You can chat with characters, create your own and generate images on the web without paying. Free use comes with ads, sits behind paying members in the queue, and does not include the paid chat models. Every paid tier's headline benefit is removing those limits, which is why the subscription question comes up quickly for anyone who chats daily.
How do I cancel a PolyBuzz subscription?
Cancel it where you bought it. On an iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, choose Subscriptions, select PolyBuzz and tap Cancel Subscription. On Android, open Google Play, go to Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, and cancel from there. PolyBuzz's FAQ confirms that your benefits stay active until the end of the period you already paid for, and switch off when it ends. Deleting the app does not cancel anything.
Which PolyBuzz plan should you buy?
For most people who chat every day, Standard at $9.90 a month is the sensible plan, and weekly billing is the one to avoid. Premium is worth $10 more only if you want the Passion and Tale models specifically. Ultimate is the only tier that adds Permanent Memory, so it is the one to pick if a character forgetting you is your main complaint. Whatever you choose, buy coins in the 8,000 or 20,000 pack rather than a thousand at a time.
If what you actually want is one steady companion rather than an open library of user-made bots and a coin balance, that is a different product, and it is the one we make. Beauties.ai is six AI girlfriends, each written and illustrated in house, who remember what you tell them and, on Flame and above, text you first. Texting is unlimited on every plan and there are no coins, credits or regenerations to pay for: plans start at $12 a month, or $9 a month billed yearly, and the full list is on our pricing page. We are not cheaper than PolyBuzz Standard, and we would rather say so than let you find out at checkout. We compare the two products side by side on our PolyBuzz alternative page.
If you are weighing PolyBuzz against other character platforms, the same arithmetic is worth doing on each of them. CrushOn sells unlimited chat on its better models as a $39.99 add-on on top of a membership, which we price out on our CrushOn AI alternative page, and Chai sells two separate subscriptions for its app and website, covered in our Chai AI subscription breakdown. For the whole category on one page, see what an AI girlfriend really costs per month.
