Short answer: Janitor AI is the cheaper way to pay for a year and PolyBuzz is the cheaper way to pay for a month. Janitor's free tier has unlimited chats, and its paid plan, janitor+, is $12.99 a month or $99.00 a year in the US App Store. PolyBuzz Standard was $9.90 a month in the last price list Apple published for the US, with Premium at $19.90 and Ultimate at $29.90. Over twelve months that is $99.00 for janitor+ on the annual plan against $118.80 for PolyBuzz Standard paid monthly.

The practical difference for an American iPhone owner this week is the store. On 24 October 2026 Apple's lookup returned Janitor: Interactive Stories in the US (version 2.7.0, released 14 October, 4.53 stars from 5,101 ratings) and returned nothing for PolyBuzz, whose US App Store page has been a 404 since at least 23 October. Both are still on Google Play in the US. So on iPhone you are choosing between an app and a website.

Every figure below comes from the vendors' own pages or Apple's in-app purchase lists. Janitor's prices were re-read on Apple on 24 October 2026; its free tier, Router and refund rules come from Janitor's help center and newsroom. PolyBuzz's dollar prices are from Apple's US list read on 12 October 2026, before the listing went dark, and its plan contents and terms from polybuzz.ai, read on 23 October. Yearly totals are our arithmetic.

PolyBuzz's website sets prices by country and showed us Polish zloty, so its dollar figures are Apple's last US list. For every PolyBuzz plan and pack with yearly totals, see PolyBuzz subscription cost per plan; for janitor+, Router and the context math, see Janitor AI subscription cost.

Is Janitor AI cheaper than PolyBuzz?

Over a year, yes. janitor+ on the annual plan costs $99.00, which is $19.80 less than a year of PolyBuzz Standard paid monthly and $139.80 less than a year of PolyBuzz Premium. Month to month it flips: janitor+ at $12.99 costs $3.09 more than Standard. And for many people the real comparison is Janitor's free tier against PolyBuzz's paid one, because Janitor's free chat is unlimited and PolyBuzz's free chat queues you behind paying members.

How you payPolyBuzz over a yearJanitor AI over a year
Free$0, with ads and queueing$0, unlimited chats on Janitor's model
Cheapest paid plan, the cheapest way$118.80 (Standard, monthly), less on a web yearly plan$99.00 (janitor+ Annual)
Cheapest paid plan, month to month$118.80$155.88
Week by week$259.48 (Standard at $4.99)Not offered
Top tier, monthly$358.80 (Ultimate)$155.88 plus any Router spend

The weekly PolyBuzz plan is the trap in this table. It is the smallest number on the screen and it costs more than twice the same Standard plan paid monthly, and more than a full year of monthly Premium. Janitor has no weekly plan at all, so the equivalent mistake does not exist there.

Which has better memory, PolyBuzz or Janitor AI?

On paper, PolyBuzz sells memory as a tier and Janitor sells it as context. PolyBuzz's membership page gives Standard "Long Memory" and reserves Permanent Memory for Ultimate at $29.90 a month. Janitor's free tier holds about 9,000 tokens of context, and janitor+ raises that about five times, which in practice is what lets a long roleplay keep its earlier scenes in view.

That makes janitor+ the cheaper route to a long memory by a wide margin: $12.99 a month, or $99.00 a year, against $29.90 a month for PolyBuzz's memory tier. The caveat is that context is a window, not a diary. Once a story outgrows it, the oldest parts drop out on both platforms, and neither publishes how long a memory actually lasts in days.

Is PolyBuzz better than Janitor AI?

It depends on what you open the app for. PolyBuzz is the more polished, guided product: a feed of ready characters, voice listening on every paid tier, image generation, and plans that tell you exactly which chat models you get (Premium adds Passion and Tale; Ultimate adds Overture, Lumina, Conqueror and Saga). Janitor is a roleplay platform built around community characters, with bots tagged Limited or Limitless, and it rewards people who like to tune things.

Janitor also lets janitor+ subscribers use outside models through Router, launched 30 July 2026, without an API key: you pay per token on top of the subscription, with a 10 percent subscriber discount on some popular models. That is flexible and also the one way a Janitor bill stops being predictable. Our page on Janitor AI proxy and API cost prices that route per message.

Can I use PolyBuzz or Janitor AI on iPhone?

Janitor, yes, through the App Store app, which ships with adult content switched off; Janitor's help center says it is enabled from account settings on the web. PolyBuzz only through polybuzz.ai in the phone's browser for now, because its US App Store listing is gone and search shows lookalike apps from other developers. If you already pay PolyBuzz through Apple, that subscription still renews and is cancelled in iPhone Settings, under your name, then Subscriptions. Our guide to cancelling PolyBuzz and getting a refund covers both routes.

A website-only product puts more weight on the site staying up, and Janitor's own site sits behind an interactive browser check before it loads. When either one stops loading, a quick check of whether the site is down for everyone saves you from reinstalling apps or clearing a browser that was never the problem.

Do PolyBuzz and Janitor AI give refunds?

Rarely, on both. PolyBuzz's Terms of Use say payments made under its rates will not be refunded even after the subscription is cancelled. Janitor's help center calls subscriptions generally non-refundable and points billing questions to billing@janitorai.com. Where you paid matters more than which app: App Store and Google Play purchases go through the store's refund process, and Janitor notes that a subscription bought in the app cannot be cancelled from the website.

Who runs PolyBuzz and Janitor AI, and do they verify age?

PolyBuzz's web terms name Singularity Mutual Entertainment Culture Media Limited in Hong Kong as the operator, and a web payment can appear on a card statement under that name; our page on the Singularity Mutual Entertainment charge matches the amounts to plans. Janitor's App Store seller is JanitorAI, INC, and Janitor says card payments on the web are handled by its payment processor rather than stored by Janitor.

Age checks are narrower than most people expect. Janitor's help center says it verifies age only in Australia, Brazil and the UK and has no plans for other regions. PolyBuzz's terms describe age verification for UK users through third party providers. For a US adult that means neither service asks for ID today, and both rely on the account holder's own statement of age.

Which one should you pay for?

If you want long roleplay with many characters and are willing to tinker, pay for janitor+ annually at $99.00, the cheapest year in this comparison. If you want a guided app with voice and are happy with the entry tier, PolyBuzz Standard at $9.90 a month is the cheapest month, as long as you stay off the weekly plan and remember the iPhone app is gone for now.

There is a third kind of reader who ends up on this page: someone who keeps coming back to one character and mainly wants her to text like a person and remember last week. Neither app is built around that. Beauties.ai is: six girlfriends written in house, each with her own look and personality, unlimited texting, and one price printed before you sign up, $12 a month or $108 a year. That is more than janitor+ annual and less than any PolyBuzz tier above Standard. If that sounds like what you were looking for, compare it with the PolyBuzz alternative page and the Janitor AI alternative page, or see how the whole category prices out in our AI girlfriend cost per month table.
